6BAMBA?

The name of this project takes its origin from the double connotation of the word “bamba” meaning both “fool” and “cocaine” in Italian slang, and from the number 6 being a homophone of the words “you are” in the Italian language.

The aim of the project was to raise awareness about addiction and about psychological distress among young adults. It was conceived and created between 2015 and 2016 in the Province of Monza and Brianza (Italy).

It involved people from Solaris, a therapeutic community for people with drug addiction in Triuggio (Italy), and the students of two classes from two different High Schools in Monza: Istituto Nanni Valentini and Istituto Leone Dehon.

The members of the therapeutic community, together with the students’ contribution and the collaboration of the Italian Drama school of Monza Binario 7, have conceived and made the participatory short film SOTTACQUA (“underwater”).

The film was presented on different prevention and awareness raising events.
